Konnekt 6 - batch of faulty units in Poland vs. the policy of truth

Hi Everyone!

I've bought Konnekt 6 in Poland. Hands-on unit with great ergonomics and fantastic sounding reverb. However the following descripton won't keep you on a bright side anymore.

The Local TC distributor is Audiostacja.
The first unit I received form them have had hardware issues - reverb knob acted like master volume knob, while big volume knob didn't work at all. There were connection problems too; the unit was disconnecting almost every time I tried to run it with included Cubase or alone (with the TC panel). After a while I was getting the same communicate from TC panel: No device found... looking for devices... and the connection was gone.

TC tech support online told me that the unit probably is faulty and adviced me to send it back to the local distributor. Doing so, I received another one which seemed to be working fine, but only at the beginning. There were no knob problems anymore, but connection issues were about the same.
Finally, the local dealer's tech support guy confessed that they have received a batch of faulty units from TC and now they're trying to fix it (who?). Then I said, well, how come you still exchanging one faulty unit on to another, knowing about the faulty batch in your stock?!

The interesting part is that after the confession of the Audiostacja tech support guy wasn't something that he came up with right away, when I was contacting them for the first time... he confessed it after a week, 5 phone calls and my two personal trips to Audiostacja (!)

My current unit number is 8732061. The serial number of the previous one was pretty close to that one, meaning they come from the same batch.
Knowing that, I believe there ought to be an official statement from TC saying that Konnekt 6 with serial numbers varying from e.g. 8732061 to .... (Hey TC!, come and name it here finally!) ARE FAULTY.

That would make my buyer's life much easier if the both companies (TC and its local dealer Audiostacja) would come up with the policy of truth about their clients. Then, maybe I would be still considering buying TC labeled units in the future.

Re: Konnekt 6 - batch of faulty units in Poland vs. the policy of truth

Hey gaspacho,

I am in Poland right now but I didn't buy my konnekt live here. I had problems with pots and Audiostacja replaced them with no problems.

In fact they told me that they changed them to a different model coz they think the originals are crap in general and they are surprised that TC chose to install them. Apart from that they replaced some eletronics inside telling me it was about to cause problems anyway.

It seems to me that many Konnekts have bad hardware inside and some of the inexplicable issues people are having are connected with that.

I hope I won't have any more problems with my konnekt live, but on the other hand I'm very happy with the Audiostacja service. They managed to repair my interface within 48 hours.

Re: Konnekt 6 - batch of faulty units in Poland vs. the policy of truth

To my knowledge, there are no 'bad batches' of the DK6 units. Nothing that I have been made aware of that is. I don't know where they got that information.
If there were specific faulty serialnumber ranges, we would of course take appropriate action asap.
