Recording four people for a round table discussion with a Q1202USB. Each of the mic inputs has a L/R balance knob. I would like to put two mic channels a little left and two a little right to give the recording more of a "roomy" effect.
When I use the L/R knobs and listen straight from the mixer through my headphones everything sounds great. When I record with Audacity however they L/R balance acts almost like a volume knob. Turning one mic all the way left makes it loud and turning another all the way right makes it silent.
Anyone have any ideas? It suggests to me that Audacity is only recording in mono but as far as I can tell it's set to stereo and the recording track appears as though it is.
Right so I returned the device to the store and they swapped it. Problem is the issue still exists. So as it stands I've tried multiple computers, multiple usb ports, two different sound recording programs and now two different Q1202USB mixers and it still isn't recording stereo properly with a L/R balance.
Someone must have experienced this issue. Can anyone help?
