Using Effects with Foot Controller

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I want to be able to control the assigned effects on the x18 with a pedal. Is this possible and could something like the Behringer FCB1010 be setup to work effects?

Thanks!

Re: Using Effects with Foot Controller

I used the fcb1010 in xr18 :
1 mute fx 1 ; 2 mute fx2 ; 3 mute fx3 ; 4 mute fx
6 unmute fx1 ; 7 unmute fx2 ; 8 unmute fx3 ; 9 unmute fx4
pedal 1 volume input 1 ; pedal 2 volume in 17/18
But the singers don't like this big pedal..

Re: Using Effects with Foot Controller

I've also used an FCB1010 to control an XR18 and an XR12. Look here for the standard bindings for a MIDI controller. Note the footnotes at the bottom which tell you how to control the DCAs and mute groups too. You can do quite a bit with just that.

In addition, you can load snapshots via MIDI program change commands, which can be set up to control only very specific parameters if you want. I've used this to turn compressers on and off and to change settings on FX modules using the FCB1010. Look here for a description of the snapshots scope control.

Beyond this, you can use OSC commands to control any aspect of the XAir. Using an external computer, you can bridge this to a standard MIDI controller like he FCB1010. Various third party utilities have been developed for this and are discussed in the Third Party Resources sub-forum here.

or the ones at the end of this web-page. You can pretty much change it as you want and add 3 or 4 more buttons with no issue. Changing the Arduino for an ESP NodeMCU will enable using WIFI and OSC directly; Again, the changes are minor.

Re: Using Effects with Foot Controller

If you or anyone else is still interested in having such pedal, I have started a kickstarter campain to fund the developement of the functionnal prototype I did:

kick starter here  (if you'd like such product to become commercial)

github (if you have technical skills to do it yourself, this would be the good starting point)

and here you finally have the website that consolidate all : http://footswitch.groupe-interval.fr/

Hope this may help.

Cheers
