When shall be released the working drivers for Konnekt X32?

Hi,

I just got the e-mail from Tc Electronic if I have mised the
TC Electronic at IBC - then the message was that there was released
new TDM plugin and etc...

I realy missed TC Electronic at IBC because they were not
even exhibiting. I also double checked in the big IBC
exhibition catalogue on site and asked the information
personal, but TC was not there.

Is this some kind of joke?

I realy liked to ask when shall be finally the drivers
ready without the BSOD screen when you close the
Nuendo 4 application with the X32 units.

So when shall the TC Electronic release the working drivers?

I look forward to hearing from you soon and thank
you in advance.

Yours faithfuly,

Gorazd.

Re: When shall be released the working drivers for Konnekt X32?

Hi, I am sorry to hear you are still having these issues with your DK32.
I don't know the answer to your question. The reason is that the question assumes that the issue you are experiencing happens with all DK32's. That is not the case.
If the question was 'When will we see a driver update that may improve performance on my particular system' then my answer would be that the driver is in constant development and that I have heard great things about the driver that is going to be included in the next release.

One thing you should try though. If you are able to reassign the IRQ for your firewire controller, then that might help.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a way how to manipulate your BIOS (Basic Input Output System) to get the most out of your DAW and your computer recording hardware.

For performance reasons we recommend to assign the Konnkt to its own IRQ.

IRQ sharing is a normal thing, but depending on the devices it can lead to issues and affect the performance.

If you have too many devices on one IRQ, you can overload your system. You can, however, reassign the IRQs to optimize performance.
Since Windows XP by defaults auto assigns them, you might need to change it.

How to assign a separate IRQ to your TC Electronic Konnekt Interface:
-Take note to which Fiwi controller your Konnekt interface is connected. Then go to the Device Manager (right-click on My Computer, then select Properties | Hardware | Device Manager). Look for an unused port that you can disable in order to use the IRQ it's assigned to. In most cases, the COM1 or COM2 ports work the best.

-Once you find an unused port, take note of what IRQ it's on. Right-click on it, select Properties, and choose "Disable in this device profile." Then reboot your computer.

-While the computer is rebooting, tap the F1 key and the Delete key back and forth until your system BIOS pop up.* Go to “Advanced, then “PCI Configuration. This will show you the PCI slots and their IRQ assignments. Simply go to the slot Number that your Konnekt card is in, and change it’s IRQ number to the newly available one. Choose "Exit and save changes." Your computer will restart and boot up normally.

-Now go back to the Start menu, select Run and type "msinfo32". Then click OK | Hardware Resources | IRQs. Confirm that Konnekt is on it's own IRQ.

# NOTE: Not every BIOS will allow you to make IRQ assignments by PCI slot. Please review your motherboard documentation for details.

Re: When shall be released the working drivers for Konnekt X32?

Hi,

Thank you for your support.

I can not reasign the IRQ in the BIOSes
of the Dell Precission T7400 or T5400 workstations.
On the BSOD screen it is written that TCnear.sys
is causing the error and the whole crash of the computers.
This never happens at the same slot with RME Fireface 800
or RME HDSP 5632.
So the only cause are the TCnear drivers.
TC X32 hardware is the only device which causes the BSOD
and I have seen the BSOD back only at the days of Windows ME
and Windows 2000. but then never again except now with
TC X32 devices and we in our studio uses a lot of exotic hardware
all these days.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and thank you
in advance.

Yours faithfuly,

Gorazd.
