X32 Audio interface troubles on a macbook -

Hi, 1st time here, so be gentle

We bought the X32 for our band studio to record our new album. Hooked it up with my macbook, and all was well. Untill it wasn't.

1st i had a problem with the new mojave microphone approval, but after granting this in the preferences it worked fine. Now the interface will work for a couple of minutes and then it disconnects:

"The last selected audio interface is not available"

i can reconnect it, but after a few minutes the same problem occurs.

You need to check that OSX hasn't applied some power saving option to the USB ports that are being used for connection to the X32 turning it off after a few minutes of inactivity.

Run the command ‘sudo dmesg’ in a console window when this happens to see if anything related shows up at the end of the output.

Re: X32 Audio interface troubles on a macbook -

Is it one of the latest Macbook pro's ?
There is a problem with USB 2 (for audio) on them (on the newest Mac mini's as well).
Have a look at RME forum, they provided a workaround with a USB C dock

I'm using a 'normal' Macbook. it only has one usb-c input.

I've looked at the standard power save options, but there is nothing about usb in there. Are there any preferences that 'im not aware of? I've maxed out all the other options and will try this again when I'm back at our rehearsal space.

Oeps, quoted the wrong post, it was for Klaus

This is the one on the RME forum

And here some info on Gearslutz

It has something to do with the new T2 chip and USB 2 timing
