Solution for Livesteam worship

Dear Sirs,

We are looking to livesteam worship sessions but we need a good audio well mixed to be out. We are thinking of 2 solutions:

1 - to use 2 mixers, the 1st dedicated for the sactuary and the other for livestream.

2 - to use one mixer for the sanctuary and do an audio networking transmitting the live audio digitally to a computer where the mixdown for the livestream will be done using DAW software.

In both solutions, we are thinking to execute the said audio network.

Here are my questions:

a) What 32 channel mixer is recommended that has a digital output that can transmit the 32 audio channel through an ethernet cable? or by USB out but that can be converted to Ethernet?

b) What 32 channel mixer is recommended that accepts and controls 32 tracks transmitted by ethernet or USB cable?

c) What are the components, converters, etc... needed to finalyze the system?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Solution for Livesteam worship

Hi @Jalil ,

Welcome to the community.  Either option should serve your needs but there are trade offs for each.  In both cases you'll need a computer to run the streaming software. The two mixer option would give the maximum flexibility since the second mixer would just be getting an identical copy of whatever signals were coming into the sanctuary mixer.   Any of the mixers in the X/M32 family can be interconnected using a dedicated Cat5E cable, but this is not Ethernet.  It is was is called AES50 and is point-to-point between the mixers.  This is the same technology that would carry the digital signals from a stage box to the sanctuary mixer at front-of-house.

For the single mixer solution with a computer, I'd suggest you add a Dante Audio networking card to the sanctuary mixer and then you would install a software package on your DAW computer called Dante Via.  While Dante can run over an existing Ethernet network, I'd recommend connecting it to a dedicated network to avoid latency and dropout issues related to network congestion.

What streaming software are you going to use? What DAW will you be using?

Hope this helps,

Ken
