So, just to make certain I understand, the usb output level for recording can be taken just after the A/D converter, which would be pre faders, eq, effects etc. The correct ouput level (recording) would be set by the input gain. The recording then would not be affected by any changes to the faders or other controls modified during the live performance. That would be perfect because I could do any modifications in my DAW after I have a good proper level recorded signal. Even if i turned the channel completely down for the mix I would still have the full signal on the recording. Is this correct?
Simple Question - I am preparing to record my band during a live performance, I will be using the XR 18, which I have purchased but have not yet received. I have some instruments where I need very little of in the mix (or none), for example the bass, while it is going into the board, will have very little signal to FOH or monitors. Where does the USB output signal come from? Is there a control that effects the level control for the USB ouput, does it simply pass through based on adjuted input level per channel, are there routing assignments abnd controls that effect the USB output level per channel? Thanks so much
