Oh my, I’m starting to confuse myself now lol. All I need is for the signal sent from bus 1.2.3 and 4 (band monitors) to reflect the main channel faders is channels 1 thru 16. I’m mixing this show a little unorthodox and bringing up the levels of cast mics as required rather than unmuting them as required. At the beginning of each scene I’m sending OSC to the X32 to unmite all mics needed for that scene, blank off all unnessesary scribble strips and reset all faders to. 0 ready for the scene to be mixed. Now if for instance mic / channel 9 doesn’t come on stage for 5 minutes into the scene and is backstage talking, mixing it this way means as I raise the FOH fader when they come onstage, THATS when the signal is sent to the monitors. The previous way I mixed the show was to UNMUTE the mics as they came on stage (which I’m aware is probably the best method but for reasons too long to go into it was decided to mix like this). So if it was set up to mix like i used to but with the current OSC set up, the mi signal for (again) channel 9 for instance would be sent to the monitors even though they don’t come on until later in the scene which could be problematic if they’re talking back stage. I hope this makes things a little clearer and apologise for any confusion. C.

And just to be clear I set the TAP to PRE fade on the main channels... not the bus channels?

Thats great, Thanks so much. so if I find that one particular channel is a bit loud for example I can still turn down the overall volume using the bus sends on fader? C

Thanks Richard, To be honest im not that worried about the dynamics etc as the monitors are usually very low anyway. Could you run me through how id make the changes from PRE to POST on the channels you mention? Would this be on the main channels? or the BUS channels which send to the monitors? Or have I got it wrong? Anyone else feel free to jump in C

This is something I might look at doing when I have more time to look into it, but for now all I need os to be able to send a POST fader mix to the bands monitors. The show starts in 3 days so I don't really want to start learning something completely new. C.

So im using QLab to send OSC network commands to the X32. However, I don't physically have the X32 with me so I'm using X32mac to make sure that Qlab is sending the commands ok. When I open up X32 Edit, it seems to see the X32mac as a connection so I connect to it and if I move any faders etc, X32mac sees these changes happen. However, X32 EDIT DOESNT emulate any changes sent to X32mac. Can it? or is it just not possible? Id love to be able to send a command from QLAB and see it physically on X32 Edit as this would make my Qlab programming a lot easier. C.

Things just got a bit more complicated. The band want 4 separate mixes. So now I need to be able to send a POST fader mix of channels 1-16 to each of these monitors. I like your idea but I don't think it would work on this show. Im also not over familiar with matrix etc. C.

Could someone give me pointer. Usually for band monitoring of cast vocals I send a mix of the mics to a bus and rely on mic mutes to feed the bus the relevant mics signals. This time around id like to feed the bands monitors by POST FADER so as I increase the main FOH channel for the mic channel it feeds the band monitors too. I'm guessing this is doable but not having done it this way before I need a little help. Can I still run it via a bus so that if I push up channel 4 FOH and its too loud in the bands monitor, the channel can be "master fed" by the corresponding bus channel? Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. Thanks Carl.

Actually sorted!!! But is there a way of still sending main L-R mix from LOCAL 15+16? as the mix position is close to the venue inputs. The stage boxes are not.
