Hi Cecilie Kaasgaar, Was un aware that user had posted on forum. Problem solved, Mark's Perform VK had a System Parameter that was out of range of the sysex documentation. Created a special version for Mark that ignores any out of range values of the 'Reserved' values. ( This mod will also transfer to next release). Issue was solved within approx 4 hrs of contact With Mark on 7th March. All now working fine. Extract from email from Mark. "It works well now though and totally opens up the usage. I am amazed that I can totally create my own presets with the effects I want. Really really happy with this. Thank you so much for creating such an amazing software. It’s like it’s turned the vk into one of the more expensive units." Ian

Hi Personally I have the BT functions mapped to my Switch 6. If all your presets have the BT/Seq assigned, you may find it easier if you MAP the Step Button to TRACK START. Setup->SCroll to the 2nd to last tab FOOTSWITCH->STEP BUTTON FUNCTION, the last option is TRACK START, the 1st is STEP. That way you can navigate to the preset you want via the foot switches, and when your ready to Perfrom that Preset/Track press the STEP button.

Hi Try plugging a dummy lead or just a plug into the Thru Socket at the Back of the Play Electric. This will allow the PLay electric to Listen to the Gtr Input for harmonies etc, but not process the signal for any effects etc. Page 10 of the Manual. http://downloads.music-group.com/documents/tchelicon/tc-helicon_play_electric_manual_english.pdf

Hi Backing Tracks will not switch presets; they are independent. Presets contains the links to Backing Tracks, and the Automation Sequence Data. If you create presets for your setlist; and each of these presets have stored the BT and Sequence Data, then when ever you change to those presets the assigned Backing Tracks etc will follow. Presets are the containers that hold the link to BT and AUtomation Data. This allows you to have a BT that is used in more than one Preset, and different automation as well. When your in the Backing Track (Looper Screen), you can if you wish change a Backing Track, this will just do that though. I have used this when I perform in a band, where the BT has no Drums, GTR, BASS etc, just a 'start click' and other instruments, but If performing solo I can just change the Backing Track to a Full Track (No GTR), this keeps the automation intact, so the steps and effects are still changed correctly. Ref Genre: The Genres are fixed, you can not change a Genre Description, you can however give a preset a selection of different genres. You have marked the solution as solved?

Hi Most if not all TC-Helicon products have an AUX Input, which can be used to guide harmonies. The main differnce between the products is the amount of effects and the amount of parameters you have to edit a particular effect. If you want the ability to edit the harmony effect fully then you would need something like, the VoiceLive 3 (Current Product), VoiceLive Rack/VoiceLive 2 ( End of life Product). When your guiding a Harmony via AUX Input, you would need to tell the device if the AUX Input is Track or LIve, In Live mode the Product will analyze the Input immediately; to detect notes,key/scale etc. In Track Mode, the device buffers the Input to analyze it better, this has a draw back in that their is a slight delay; which you will only notice if your sending the AUX Input source to the PA independent of the VoiceLive Unit. I would check the products out to see which has the Harmonies your interested in; If you need to create Custom Harmonies, then only the Flag Ship products have this ability ( VL3,VL2,VLR). Hope that helps.

Hi A workaround, would be to scarifice the Headphone Output. You could then turn the AUX MIX in the MAIN outs OFF, and then in the Headphone Mix, lower every Level to OFF or its lowest value except the AUX Level. This would allow you to have the AUX only coming out of the HP Socket.

Hi The Backing Track and Looper Layer are seperate to the Preset Data, but they linked. The main thing to remember is to save the preset once you have assigned it a Backing Track or Loop slot. So procedure 1. Select the Preset you want you to Assign a Backing To. 2. Select the backing Track; you wish to use. 3. Now Save the Preset ( Press STORE TWICE). ** IMPORTANT ** use Option 1-3 as many times as you need. Similartly when ever you change the BT Automation; remember to save the Automation.. You should now have assigned the bt and Stored the Backing Track info to the Preset. You may find that when you start up Your VoiceLive 3 the BT is not assigned, if this happens. Just navigate up/down away from your preset and back again. This will force a re-sync. Hope that makes sense. Also Note that if the Backing Track has not finished playing before you change preset. Then The new Backing Track will not load, as the old one is still playing. So always make sure the Backing Track is finished or Stopped, before you change a preset. Video demoing, removing and adding a backing track.

Hi 1. If you press the Setup Button 2. Then navigate to the Tone Tab 3. Scroll Down with the Large Encode Wheel to the GATE Parameter. 4. Make Sure the GATE is NOT set to OFF, 5. In Adaptive Mode you can adjust the Harmony Atten Parameter, this should do what your after. If you want further precise control, then change the mode to Manual, you should now have access to the THreshold Parameter. Hope that get you going.

Hi John, It is not common. The serial number that your Extreme is showing is not a valid one; and is what the unit dispalys if the serial number is NOT set. If you can contact your supplier (hopefully your in your Dead On Arrival period), and ask them to check the replacement unit prior to sending, to make sure that the serial number of the device is valid; by powering up and holding the Genre Button, to make sure that it matches the label. If the Serial Number is not valid/not set then the unit will default to behaving as VoiceLive 3, not the extreme. Note its not just the record to USB you do not have, you probably do not have Backing Tracks, and all the extra targets/parameters the Extreme has.
