Hello, I'm a newbie to the site here, but no newbie to the audio world, been in it since 76 or so. We have an X32 console at our church, bought it in 2013, and updated firmware twice, (Can't remember what version we are at off the top of my head) Today during our service, had a very unusual thing happen. We use all the analog inputs, no stage box or digital cards, so our input patching is very straightforward, Inputs 1-8-Local 1-8, Inputs 9-16-Local 9-16 and so on. Mid service, input channels 9-16 switched to AES50A1-8, and so all of a sudden I was left with no signal on those 8 channels. I was mixing on my iPad seated in the pews, so no-one was seated at the console, nor did I accidentally go to the routing page on the ipad. Took me a minute or two to discover what had happened and so I set the patch back to Local 9-16 and all was well again. We do have a local UPS on the power side of things, and the AC lines to the sound booth also have industrial strength surge protection on them. A bug maybe? Console? or iPad? Has this happened to anyone else? First time anything weird like this has happened to us in 5 years of use. Otherwise I am extremely pleased with our console and have recommended it to several other churches in our area. Cheers all.
